Theatre - LA CLAQUE

Funny, musical and interactive, the incredible story of an applause conductor.

1895 in a Parisian theatre.
Auguste Levasseur, a claque conductor, leads a troupe of accomplices who, mixed in with the audience, are responsible for applauding at the right moments.
An applauded play is a successful play, but with two hours to go before a big premiere, Auguste is abandoned by his claque. So he asked Fauvette, the orchestra musician, and Dugommier, the theatre manager, to find replacements to save the evening's performance.
There was only an hour and a half left before the start of the premiere to get the novice clappers to rehearse by performing extracts from the show, which consisted of no less than five acts, forty musicians and thirty set changes! It's an arduous task, but there are only three of them, and this evening their careers are hanging by a thread!
