Come and explore Montesquieu's château and estate! Charles Louis de Secondat, better known as Montesquieu, was very attached to his family château in La Brède. The interior tour takes visitors in the footsteps of the writer through the emblematic places where he worked, including his library and his bedroom, preserved in its 18th-century state. A visit to the chapel and salons reveals the wealth of collections and furniture assembled by the family over the years. A place of pleasure and work, it was here that he returned throughout his life and composed much of his work, including Les Lettres persanes (1721) and De l'esprit des lois (1748).
Free visit of the château at a reduced rate. Free visit of the park.
